Not only does the sound suck on non-HD channels (you practically have to turn the volume up to the top notch just to get decent sound out of this thing), the device will stop powering on randomly. This is my 2nd TV (the first was brand new, and it stopped powering on after about 2.5 months. Toshiba eventually sent me a refurbished TV, which started having the same issues after LESS THAN A WEEK!!) and I am extremely dissatisfied with this product.

The tv did not work, then i could only get a refund if i sent it back, which i had to pay for, and it was going to cost more to send it back than i paid for the tv in the first place.
